LEE AND DEAN'S POPPY BERGEN RUN 2020
Well what a year, having to cancel the 2020 Poppy Half Marathon was one of the toughest and saddest decisions I have had to take in a long long time…
Dean and I started the Bergen run some 4 years ago in remembrance of Dean’s Grandad who fought in WW1, so after a chat we decided to continue with the tradition… and at 12:30 on Sat 7th November, Dean and I will be at the start of the Poppy Marathon, no frills or race set up, just carrying our 50lb Bergen.. any one who fancies joining us would be very welcome.. the course is not marked but 13.1 miles is what we will be running…
Unfortunately due to Covid we’ve had to cancel all our charity fund raising events and races, but this gives us a small opportunity to raise funds.. A Justgiving Page has been set up and you can support us by clicking the button below.
If you are local to Bexhill and would like to come down and give us a socially distanced cheer that too would be much appreciated.
Take care and hope to see you all once again in 2021

POPPY HALF MARATHON 2020
Hi All,
Firstly hope you are well and managing life through the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is with great sadness and regret that we are having to reschedule the Poppy Half Marathon to November 2021. We’ve set a provisional date of Saturday 13th November 2021, so make sure it’s in your diary.
The decision has been exceptionally difficult, it will be the first time in our 20 year history runners won’t be on the start line. We are not alone, events, people, businesses all over the world have suffered and been affected by the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 … Sometimes you just have to bow to the inevitable, and be positive and start planning for 2021.
Those who have already entered have the option to defer to 2021, a simple email to Sue at the office will sort that for you … [email protected].
You of course, also have the option of a refund, when making your decision please do bear in mind that we are a small Charity and supported with income from your entry.
We will let you all know as soon as online entries go live for next year’s event..
In the meantime, take care through these tough times and please stay safe, try keep consistency in your training and let’s make the Poppy Half Marathon it’s best yet in 2021.
Best wishes
